Hello everyone. Winter vacation ended and here we are at school again. We keep on working online, too. The following 2 weeks you are going to do a project in group, which provides you the opportunity to feel a team member, to learn in group, to collaborate, to communicate, to search, question, find answers and come up with a final, common result. Team work is a great tool in succeeding nowadays.
So, here is the project you are going to do and all the instructions on how to do it. Project Title- Special places in the community Students’ level - 11 grade Project idea - The project aims students to explore and find 3 places they are most proud of in their community. Driving question- How can we make our community a better place to live? Why is it important to have a well-developed community? EFL Content Skills and Standards; – produce a well-developed and structured history of the community; - use the proper vocabulary and structures for describing places; - build a positive attitude towards the community you live in. Collaborative Final Products- - Animoto movie or - Voicethread movie to present your work; Local & Global Audience- - classmates, schoolmates, parents, people in the community, teachers. Project Steps and schedule: Step 1. Make up 3 groups-(as you are from different communities you might form the teams by communities) and post in the comment section the component of the group members; Step 2. Select the places you want to describe and write in the comment. Step 3. Decide on the way you want to present the final result: ex: Animoto/Voicethread movie; https://animoto.com or http://voicethread.com/ and write in the comment. Step 4. Assign responsibilities to each member of the team -what is everyone going to do: ex; - take pictures, -find out the history of these places, -interview someone to find out more information,- put together all the materials,- write/do the draft of the presentation and discuss it in group and write in the comment; Step 5. Make the necessary changes; -add your own opinions about this activity in the presentation; Step 6. Publish the product on the blog as a comment and present it in class.
